Intelligence Applications - Business Operations and
Decision-Making, Operational BI Applications
To analyze
greater amounts and types of data, extend dashboards
companywide, and help augment its decision-making processes,
Shopzilla has selected Oracle to power its new
business intelligence (BI) and data warehousing
systems. Shopzilla connects millions of shoppers with
thousands of merchants, tracking the flow of traffic,
purchases, product searches, among other key events
transpiring through its shopping search site.
With a growing business, new Web site features resulting in
more data for analysis, and changing customer needs,
Shopzilla plans to deploy a new data warehouse comprised of
Oracle Database(R) 10g and Oracle Real Application Clusters
running on six Dell PowerEdge 2950 servers with two Intel
Core Duo processors on Linux.
Following a thorough five-week pilot phase, Shopzilla chose
Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition
(Oracle Business Intelligence Suite EE) as its platform for
alerts, dashboards, and self-service reporting capabilities
throughout the enterprise. The company tested Oracle
Business Intelligence Answers, Oracle Business Intelligence
Dashboards, and Oracle Business Intelligence Delivers
modules of Oracle Business Intelligence Suite EE on top of
its clustered Oracle Database with great success.
